Cognitive Wireless System - CWS
Definition
A Cognitive Wireless System is a system that can sense the surrounding available wireless networks, and select the best network for transmission. This cognitive wireless system is at the core of In Motion Technology’s Vehicle Area Network, and consists of patent pending software components encompassing our ruggedized onBoard Mobile Gateway, onBoard Mobility Manager and onBoard Session Manager.
In Motion Technology’s Cognitive Wireless System ensures that all devices –wired or wireless – that are connected to the onBoard™ Mobile Gateway have assured connections, and seamless connectivity from one network to the next. It continuously monitors for the best connection. This seamlessly connectivity happens without the knowledge or intervention of mobile workers, so it eliminates the need for resetting or rebooting equipment. Because it happens in real time, users don’t need to worry that the system has “spoofed” the connection – the hand-off happens smoothly and immediately, ensuring data is delivered to its destination.
