In Motion Technology Inc. is an award-winning, high-growth early stage technology company with a high-energy and fast-paced corporate culture. Our products support critical work force solutions for the ”in motion” Public Safety/Municipality markets – initially “911 responders” throughout the US and Canada.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will ensure each product developed at In Motion Technology is successfully released from engineering to customers by implementing strategies and developing business plans that coordinate all aspects of the product rollout. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products for the company. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and partners. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand customer problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.
You must be able to communicate with all groups in the company. You will work with an engineering counterpart to define product release requirements. You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping to communicate the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working with the sales channel, whole product partners, and key customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with customers and whole product partners to manage whole product and core product roadmaps from strategic planning to tactical activities
- Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and whole product partners.
- Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product content, and positioning.
- Analyzing and developing potential partner relationships for the whole product
- Performing competitive analysis of specific product areas; acting as reference point for knowledge of the competition's equivalent products
Qualifications
- Must have at least 5+ years of experience working in a related environment as a product manager
- Excellent project management skills complemented by a proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams (local and remote) in launching leading technology product Knowledgeable in technology.
- Must demonstrate excellent written & verbal communication, listening, and consent-building skills.
- Hands-on knowledge of wireless technology, including 3G, Wi-Fi, WiMax, as well as systems management and/or infrastructure management software is a plus
- Experience working for both a large company and small company focusing on enterprise wireless solutions is an asset
