John McEwen
John McEwen is a co-founder of Discovery Capital, and a Director of the BC Discovery Fund (VCC) Inc. He has worked with nearly 200 technology companies, and serves on several Investee Company Boards. He spearheaded corporate finance initiatives for companies such as Sierra Wireless Inc. and Circon Systems Corp., accelerating their development by attracting key corporate and additional venture capital backing. He is well known in the B.C. technology community as past Operations Chair of the Vancouver Enterprise Forum. Prior to co-founding Discovery Capital, he worked with IBM Canada Ltd. He holds a B.Comm from U.B.C.
Don Strohmeyer
A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Mr. Strohmeyer has enjoyed a long and successful career in the telecommunications industry. Don spent 42 years working in a variety of roles at Southern Bell and later BellSouth, from customer service to network operations and marketing. In 1983, he was appointed Vice President of Marketing for BellSouth Services and in 1990, he assumed responsibility for Network Operations for the North Sector of Southern Bell. In 1998, Mr. Strohmeyer was named Vice President for BellSouth Network Operations. After retiring from BellSouth in 1998, he undertook a new challenge, becoming President & CEO of Applied Digital Access. He held this position until 2002, when the company was acquired by Dynatech Corporation. Mr. Strohmeyer currently resides in Florida.
John Malone
John F. Malone is Founder, President and CEO of The Eastern Management Group. He heads one of the oldest, and most respected management consulting firms, providing professional services to leading edge communications companies and government agencies throughout the world. John Malone has been professionally involved with the telecommunications industry for more than 35 years. Mr. Malone's principal area of expertise is assisting technology companies to establish dominant competitive positions in the marketplace, which is at the core of his firm's success in performing thousands of engagements, for more than 400 clients worldwide, for more than a quarter century. Before founding The Eastern Management Group in 1979, Mr. Malone spent a decade at AT&T where he developed corporate strategy, and managed sales and marketing organizations throughout the United States. Mr. Malone holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing, as well as an MBA from the University of Dayton.
Kirk Moir
Kirk Moir co-founded In Motion Technology in 2002. As president and CEO, he is responsible for day to day operations and investment strategy. He also plays an integral role in product management and marketing. Prior to In Motion, Kirk was senior director of marketing with Acterna, a global leader in telecom test and management products. Before that, he held increasingly responsible development, delivery and marketing positions with MPR Teltech and Applied Digital Access specializing in network management software products for large service providers. Kirk has a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from the University of Manitoba.
